"Street Reporter" Screening and DiscussionThursday, March 31, 2022 1:30 p.m.

The SOC Community is invited to a special screening of Professor Laura Waters Hinson’s award-winning documentary, Street Reporter, on March 31st at 3:30 pm in the Doyle Forman Theater. Afterward, a panel discussion with the filmmaker and special guests from the film will follow. The event is hosted by AU’s Community Voice Lab.

Behind the Scenes: Covering the White House

Our wonderful panelists are headed to the historic NATO summit and will not be able to join us as planned. We are working to reschedule. 
Join us for an inside look at what it means to cover the White House for a major news network. This livestreamed panel featuring three chief White House correspondents and moderated by CNN VP and Managing Editor Antoine Sanfuentes will go behind the scenes to explore how these professionals keep the public informed about the critical issues of our day. Panelists include NBC News Chief White House Correspondent Kristen Welker, CNN Chief White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins, and ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Cecilia Vega. 

2022 Visions Awards

Wednesday, March 16 8-9 pm EST

The Visions Awards are the Film Division’s prestige awards ceremony, showcasing the best film and media work from American University students for over 40 years. This year the event will be held in McKinley's Doyle-Forman Theater on March 16 at 8pm. This on-campus event will be limited to American University students, staff and faculty. However, the event will also be livestreamed. We will send the livestream link to anyone who has registered. Register
