Teaching, advising, and supporting students in their first year of college

Welcome to First Year Advising

First Year Advising assigns students to one advisor throughout their first year regardless of intended major. Advisors also teach their advisees in a weekly AUx1 course in the fall. This relationship allows students to have consistency through their first semester by providing weekly opportunities to connect with their advisor in class.

Eagle Service 101: Building Your Course Planner resource - provides information on using the Student Planner feature of Eagle Service including searching for classes; reading the "Section Details" screen to find information on pre-requisites, restrictions, & more; adding courses to your planner; registering for courses; and more.

The University Catalog is published each year and includes multiple pieces of information that can help inform your registration and your semester including Academic Programs (major, minor, certificate requirements), Academic Calendars (add/drop deadline, withdrawal deadline, etc.), and University Regulations and Policies.
