Student Awards: Outstanding Achievement in Foreign Language Study and Practice

Dalia Haymov (American University-Ritsumeikan University Double Degree Program, SIS) is a sophomore undergraduate student from Israel. She is bilingual in English and Hebrew, semi-fluent in Russian, and currently pursuing Japanese language studies. She started pursuing her language studies in Tokyo, where she learned three months in a language school, and continued to take courses at American University in hopes to be a translator. Dalia is an active member of the American University community as a Resident Assistant and as student staff in multiple locations. She is also a two-time recipient of the Gilman Award, one-time recipient of the Student Fund Abroad, and a recipient of the Critical-Need Language Award.
