Pearis Bellamy, M.S. is a doctoral intern at the Center for Well-Being Programs and Psychological Services. She provides individual and group therapy, outreach programs, consultation, and crisis management. Pearis is a fifth year PhD candidate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Florida. Her clinical interests include working with survivors of trauma (specifically intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and racial trauma) and critical consciousness development. Prior to her internship at American University, Pearis completed clinical training at Pace Center for Girls-Alachua, the University of Florida Counseling and Wellness Center, and the University of Florida Equal Access Behavioral Health Clinic (a.k.a. Free Therapy Night). Pearis approaches therapy from a relational-cultural framework and often integrates interventions from dialectical behavior therapy and internal family systems.
