CareFirst and Kaiser medical plan participants have access to vision discount benefits through their plans. Vision coverage is not an electable benefit, but it may be a consideration when selecting your AU medical plan.
All AU employees are also eligible for the MetLife Vision Access discount program at no cost. The program works like a coupon code for discounts on lenses, frames, and eye exams at participating retailers, so make sure to ask your provider in advance if they accept the MET2020 discount code.
CareFirst BCBS’ BlueVision discount vision program is provided through Davis Vision Plan which covers routine eye exams at a $10 copay and offers discounts on frames, lenses, and laser vision correction surgery. Visit CareFirst for coverage details and provider information.
Kaiser participants can receive routine eye exams at no copay and eyewear and lenses are available at a discount through Kaiser centers and participating optical centers. Visit www.kaiserpermanente.org for more details.
Please note that a visit with an opthamologist is covered under your medical plan and subject to the appropriate plan copayment.
MetLife’s discount vision program is provided through Vision Service Plan and has discounts of 20% to 25% for most services.
To access the program, provide the program code (MET2020) when making an appointment or receiving services/materials from a participating provider.
