- Alex is a Ph.D. Candidate in Clinical Psychology at American University. Her research – in the Interpersonal Emotion Lab – focuses on personality, emotion, and interpersonal relationships. Specifically, Alex studies how individual differences in personality, emotional processes (e.g., empathy, emotion regulation), and identity-related stressors influence romantic relationship functioning. Currently, Alex is an extern at the Washington DC VA Medical Center where she practices evidence-based therapies with Veterans in the Polytrauma Clinic.
